RFP for Caregiving Coalitions

Proposals Due January 12, 2007

The National Alliance for Caregiving is pleased to announce that we have received two grants from the Retirement Research Foundation and the Jacob and Valeria Langeloth Foundation to work with 20 caregiving coalitions throughout the U.S. This is a wonderful opportunity for 20 caregiving coalitions to participate in a ground-breaking project to strengthen your coalition, receive advocacy training, and participate in the first National Conference for Caregiving Coalitions on March 5, 2007 in Chicago, Illinois as a pre-conference program to the joint American Society on Aging/National Council on Aging annual meeting. The conference will provide an opportunity for your caregiving coalition to become part of a national network and to:

* Share best practices and lessons learned

* Learn to advocate for family caregivers in your community

* Develop strategies for long-term sustainability

* Create effective messages for community outreach

* Host Caregiver Awareness Day activities

Information on how your coalition can be part of this exciting project is contained in the attached Request for Proposals (RFP). Please forward this message to other caregiving coalitions that would be interested in participating in this opportunity.  Click here to view the RFP

The Langeloth Foundation has announced an RFP targeted to community-connected caregiver programs. Please share this opportunity for funding with all of your community based, non-profit partners.

The RFP seeks projects that deliver services and/or evaluate approaches that reduce the burden of long term caregiving on caregivers marginalized by virtue of race, age, language, geography, class, level of literacy, culture or other factors. These factors constitute the context the Langeloth Foundation wishes to emphasize through the RFP.

Responders must register on the Langeloth Foundation website by
January 15, 2007. Letters of intent must be received no later than February 15, 2007 and full proposals are due by May 8, 2007
